Christmas, Bartending School, Progresso Soup!

Ha so how do you like my blog post title??? Pretty creative huh??

Well here is a Christmas ornament I gave away at an ornament exchange party :)

Here is my little brother's gift wrapped up (he was totally against the bow...gosh! twelve year olds have no appreciation for craftyness!!!)

Here is a picture of my school.  I have spent HOURS behind that bar for the past two weeks!

Today i finall graduated---BEST IN CLASS

that means I got the highest score on the written final :)

I also beat out the school's speed drink making record!!!!

12 different types of drinks (everything from shots to a cosmo to a cherry vodka sour) in five minute and 28 seconds :) YES!!!!

Who loves progresso soup???!!! I DO I DO!!!!

Okay I was given two mugs and two spoons from BlogSpark so that I can give one away to a blog reader!!! After I enjoy the soup that was also included I will do my very first giveaway :)

[the mug is MASSIVE and it has a place for your thumb on the hnadle!!!]

I hope everyone enjoys an extremely blessed Christmas with all of your loved ones!!! and please don't forget to say a prayer for all of our soldiers away from their families and Lee.  He has duty (24 hours on the ship alone) on Christmas Day.

I'm still here friends!!!

  WORK:
  • At my job work is spelled- D R A M A.
  • It's terrible.
  • If it isn't one person, it's another.
  • I'm going insane, thus me wanting a new job and SOON!!!
BUT I do LOVE my kiddies :) Look at my newest Cards!!!

("Miss Shayla you are so nise")

("Miss Shayla is nis but win she pus me in tim ot she is not nis"-HAHA best card thus far!!!)

BARTENDING:
  • I can openly say this is probably the most random and shocking thing I have ever taken up.
  • I've always thought bartending was cool.
  • My family is Puerto Rican and so they always enjoy a nice beer or different types of tropical drinks such as pina coladas when we are together and I've always wanted to learn how to make them!
  • Every job I have ever had has involved working with kids, and I needed to find a way to expand my abilities and certifications so that other jobs can be made available to me
  • ALSO, I need a job that I could move around with if Lee and I were to get married before I graduate college.

I know some of you are not going to be "excited" about me bartending, but I really want a job at a nice restauraunt or hotel.  I'm not looking for a job where I am surrounded by 100 drunk college guys.

(Here is my dark purple shaker set I got!!!!)

I actually LOVE bartending school, its a total BLAST and I am GOOD at it!!! I did my externship at a sports bar last night and it was great :) I have my final this wed/thurs and I should graduate this Thursday!!!

SCHOOL:
I am almost done with my second english class (one final paper to turn in) and then I can work on my final video for speech.  I passed my health pre-assessment with flying colors and I am hoping to be able to test out of it!!!

CHURCH:
  • HELP! I am really struggling with church.
  • First of all I haven't been able to go in a month because I was either out of town or trying to catch up on things because I was out of town (big mess).
  • I am also aware that depending on how soon I go into bartending I will most likely be working LATE on saturday nights.
  • Plus Sundays are my typical "catch up on school work" days.
  • I need to hang out with my BFF soon so that we can go over what I need to do about church, but I am considering going back to "Seven" at Gateway since that's on Tuesday nights and it is tailored to my age group.
Anyone else have any other ideas???!!!

MY COASTIE:
  • He has had his struggles (only with sea sickness-its a killer) and we had a fear of him getting discharged for his health these past couple of weeks. That is REALLY scary stuff by the way!
  • Besides being sick all the time he is working really hard and is soaring through his qualifications :)
  • He was one of the main motivators and support I got for bartending *he even paid for some of my school* He knows how much I love talking to people and having fun and he also knows how much I hate my current job so of course he knew it would be something that made me happy so he encouraged me!
  • He has duty on Christmas-so say a special prayer for him when you are with your family opening gifts
  • Depending on whether or not they break a major part of the engine room on tuesday will depend if I see him on New Years, and if him and his shipmates will be sent to Louisiana for a while.
For those of you that have read this far I want to say THANK YOU for hanging around even though I have been SO BAD at leaving comments and blogging (I'm trying to get all caught up!)
